Most people don’t seem to understand that every social media network out there can be utilized as a tool.

And just any tool – but as a  Powerful Marketing tool!

I know – I was one of them.

I remember when I first signed up for a Facebook account.

This was back when Facebook was for college and university students ONLY.

Do you remember that time?

If you don’t remember when Facebook was limited to college and university students then you’re a Facebook newbie!

Yes  you may think it was centuries ago given the vast changes that have taken place in social media since then.

You know how Facebook has evolved over the years and the huge impact it has made on your life, whether positive or negative.

It has made an impact.

So I’m a believer in making lemonade out of lemons, so even if there are tons of negative things that could happen on the internet I’m here to show you how you can use it all for a positive reason!

By using this new system that I have been using you will learn that Social Media Marketing is a HUGE business.

There are sites out there that you probably have never even heard of and to be quite honest I haven’t heard about them either.

We may never use some of them, but the point is that there is a flavor for everyone – From Google + to Linkedin, Pinterest and Facebook – you name it they have it.

Remember when you were trying to get the word out about some even or business opportunity you were involved in how difficult that used to be.

You had to use traditional forms of advertising

You had to have a HUGE advertising budget to get the word out.

You had to print out flyers,

You had to host events,

You spent a lot and sometime your results were minimal at best.

Social Media and Your Business Today

Well in today’s Social Media world you can get the WORD out to the WORLD using just a few sites.

For your personal businesses you can decide to keep your thumb on just a few social media sites.

You don’t have to be on every site, but you can make it appear that you are with some other tools.

For example I use different social media networks for very very different markets and purposes.

There are some social media networks where you want to only engage and sell once in a while.

There are other social media sites where you want to provide tons and tons of value.

The social media queen – Diane Hochman – who our Marketing Chefs hosted recently on a 29 minute hangout – shared that once a day you want to sell.

What to do on each Social Media Network


So Facebook for example is where you want to build community and use for general information sharing.

There are many ways you can do this. My business partner and I shared on one of our recent Marketing Moms Trinidad hangouts!

Google + (because it’s Google) you want to use for content.

Google is the search engine master so whatever you put there you want it to be searchable.

It makes no sense using Google + solely for status updates.

You should already know that when it comes to content – Google is King.

And since Google bought YouTube your content dissemination power just doubled.

LinkedIn is another platform that you can use specifically for marketing a business like Consulting Business and now and then you can post a few personal things.

But keep in mind, no-one on LinkedIn cares when you got into the shower,

or the traffic jam that you’re in right now,

Or how you’re feeling today. (so keep that in mind). Marketing Moms Trinidad discussed how to maximize LinkedIn as one of your social media assets.

So there you have it! A quick overview of the Power of Social Marketing.
