3 Tips for Blogging

Almost every online business starts with blogging. Check out these

I know that because I’ve been blogging myself for seven years now. Everything I did online started with blogging.

I blogged for fun, then for business, and now I blog about everything.

And, believe me, I’ve seen it all. The Internet is overcrowded with blogs about everything you could ever imagine.

If you haven’t started blogging yet, then you need to check out these 3 Reasons Why You Need A Blog.

Or maybe you’ve been blogging for quite some time now, but it seems that no one notices your blog.

Well, you have to learn how to write more compelling content to make people want to stay on your blog and read more of your posts. Always have in mind that people don’t just go to your website, they go to your blog. You can check out 7 Days To Blog to learn more about how to create an effective blog that will appeal to readers.

So how will you make your blog stand out from the others?

This is the part where I give you three tips on how to do it.

  1. Compelling Headlines

  2. Links embedded in your blog posts

  3. Strong Call to Action

Compelling Headlines

Your blog is your online newspaper. And headlines sell newspapers. Makes sense, right?

When people are searching for information online, they are using specific or key words. If those words aren’t in your headline then nobody is going to find your blog. If you need help with headlines then check out these 5 Winning Headline Formulas.

Even if you syndicate your blog all around the Internet, that won’t be of much help. You still need to have a compelling headline that jumps out of people and makes them want to read your blog.

Imagine that someone is looking for a way to lose weight, and sees a headline: 5 ways to lose weight. That’s the type of headline people will jump at, because they want to know what are those 5 ways.

Now, imagine a headline that says: My simple ways to helping you to lose weight. Not very compelling, right?

Your goal is to make people want to read your blog, not to dwell on the headline and wonder whether they should be reading it or not.

Links embedded in your blog posts

The compelling headline is a hook that will make people click on your blog post.

But you need something that will make them want to stay on your blog. That’s when trackback links come into play.

You have to include lots of links that track back to similar blog posts you’ve written.

These links help with your ranking. The more time people spend on your blog, the higher your ranking will be.

You don’t want someone to read just that one blog post and then leave. You want the person to stay and read more of your blogs.

So, give people a reason to stay.

Strong Call to Action

The end of your blog must have a strong call to action.

You can ask people what they think about the specific issue or to leave a message. Business people can say: Click on this link to get more information.

All of these things have something in common.

They are very action oriented; they are telling people what to do.

Your blog isn’t the only fish in the sea. If you want it to stand out from the others, you have to write more compelling content.

Remember:

  1. Compelling Headlines

  2. Track back links

  3. Strong Call to Action

There are so many things to learn about blogging, but you have to start with the basics, and these three fundamental tips are the biggest allies that you will need to stand out.
